About Peace Arts Festival
History:
Beginning in 1998 as the Peace River South Festival of the Arts, the festival has long celebrated students of the performing arts in and around Dawson Creek. Rooted in local passion for the performing arts and supported by the talented creatives of the Peace Region, it has grown into a cherished community tradition. Today, the team at the Peace Arts Festival continues to foster that same joy and inspiration, striving to bring the familiar sense of excitement and pride to our festival each and every year.
Purpose:
Peace Arts Festival exists to celebrate and support the performing arts within our community. It provides a welcoming platform for students and emerging performers to showcase their talents in music, dance, speech, and drama. Through constructive feedback from experienced adjudicators, participants are encouraged to grow in their skill and confidence. Rooted in community spirit, the festival brings together artists, educators, families, and audiences from across the Peace Region. Above all, it strives to create a positive, inspiring environment where creativity is nurtured and celebrated.
