SALTWATER HANK: Guided by the spirit of his Ts’msyen heritage through his music and surrounded by the echoes of his ancestors and familiar melodies, Jeremy felt drawn to Ts’msyan traditions from a young age. Motivated by the desire to honor his cultural roots, he blends ancestral melodies with rock and roll energy, influenced by both punk rock icons and blues legends, while remaining committed to preserving the purity of Ts’msyen’s musical heritage. Beyond his role as Saltwater Hank, Jeremy is a storyteller and keeper of tradition, whose goal is to ensure the continuity of Ts’msyen stories and language through his latest album “G son al’üünx Wil Lu Holtga Liimi”, sung exclusively in Sm’algyax. His journey as an artist and linguistic revitalizer inspires others to embrace their heritage, demonstrating with conviction that his music can ignite cultural renewal and drive change.

SALTWATER HANK is releasing his newest album "Siip'nsk" on May 24th under the Nikamo Musik label.

We are incredibly grateful for BC Arts Council's "Arts Circulation & Touring Grant" which made this event possible.
