​Breydon Janzen is a passionate music instructor with nine years of teaching experience, specializing in guitar, drums, bass, and ukulele. Born in Dawson Creek, he has been immersed in music since age 11, performing in various bands. Breydon honed his expertise through a sound engineering program at Columbia Academy and gained professional experience at Little Red Sounds Recording Studio. His dynamic background and dedication to music make him an inspiring teacher, helping students of all levels master their craft.

Sanya brings together years of Indian classical music training (since age 9) and expertise as a breathwork practitioner to offer a fresh, empowering approach to voice training. This is a beginner-friendly & performance-positive space! Sanya has a focus on developing vocal technique, breath control, expression & performance skills, and giving your voice gets the spotlight and the support it deserves.

Steph Parth

Royal Conservatory Piano

Stephanie is originally from St. Albert, Alberta. She grew up learning classical piano from the age of 4, and completed her grade 10 piano at the age of 16. Around this time she expanded her interests and began learning other instruments, including guitar, bass, drums and singing. She was also a part of many drama clubs and musical theatre performances throughout the years. She has called Dawson Creek her home for the past two years, and is excited to begin teaching piano at KPAC this fall!

Aaron Marchuk

Piano, Trumpet​​​

I have been playing the piano for about 25 years since beginning lessons at age 4. After completing Grade 10 Royal Conservatory piano and its required theory exams in my high school years, I have performed in many different styles, including jazz, classical, pop, R&B, rock, musical theatre, and more, in many different groups as well as solo. I  also have about 20 years of experience playing trumpet, and have studied music alongside many different teachers including Carmen Gorgichuk (piano) and Martin Berinbaum (trumpet). I have a good deal of experience approaching music both through reading and theory, as well as by learning by ear, and I believe it to be essential for musicians and students to have knowledge of both approaches. I look forward to once again helping my students on their journey of learning their instrument and understanding how music works!

Troy Rushton

Guitar, Bass​

I picked up the guitar at age 12 and haven’t looked back since. Throughout my teenage years in Nova Scotia, I played in a variety of cover bands and dedicated countless hours to learning the instrument. At 19, while working at a local music store, I was invited to start teaching. With a solid foundation in music theory from my high school music program and jazz band experience, I took the leap and quickly discovered a real passion for teaching. In 2016, I relocated to Tumbler Ridge, BC, where I connected with a talented group of musicians and formed a new band. We still play together whenever we can. I love teaching players of all levels and enjoy exploring all styles of music, even the ones I wouldn’t normally listen to. There’s always something new to learn, and I bring that curiosity and enthusiasm into every lesson. Looking forward to making music with you!

Ruth Czerniak

Piano

I began piano lessons at the age of 5 and grew up practicing, listening, and falling in love with music. In high school, I started composing and performing, which led me to pursue music more seriously in college. While earning my interdisciplinary BA, I studied music theory, composed original works, and directed two musicals, along with performing in various ensembles. Music remained a central part of my life as I raised a family of four, and our home was filled with practice sessions, performances, and shared musical moments. I taught all of my children music, two of whom now sing, compose, and perform, and all continue to enjoy music in their own ways. I’ve been teaching piano for over 30 years and currently teach at KPAC. I’m passionate about helping children learn, grow, and express themselves through the timeless art of music.
